Due to maternity leave, we are looking for a new colleague for a period of six months. As team leader Career Services your main focus will be the day-to-day management of the team (8 members) and services, including responsibility for the personnel affairs of the individual colleagues in the team. You ensure cooperation in the project teams, monitor progress of the different projects and contribute to individual team member’s development. Next to that, you will represent the department, and actively contribute to the strategic positioning of the department in the organization. You will represent the Faculty in relationship with study associations, in university wide project groups and other partnerships.
Ideally, you will combine this role with the leadership of one or more projects on career services and/or the development of new concepts in this field. In all activities, partnership with the education programmes, alumni and external organizations is important.
You are expected to be result orientated and to work in close cooperation with the academic director, colleagues, executives and project teams.
You will be reporting to the vice-dean of education.
The department Career Services (CS) of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) is responsible for a wide range of career services for students, to support them in their development towards their professional career and life. The department aims to foster the employability of the students with services like internships, student wellbeing projects, student consultancy projects, learning communities, skills training and career events.
The department supports the degree programmes in embedding activities that support students’ professional development within the educational programmes. The department works on different projects to realize this ambition, and to make visible to students how the FEB programs work on enhancing their employability. Many activities are realized in close cooperation with our study associations, external partner organizations and FEB alumni.
The department’s staff members work in their own task areas, but also together in multidisciplinary project teams with colleagues from other departments and with external stakeholders.
As a Faculty, FEB has developed an international reputation in research and education and has grown over the past years in size to more than 7000 students and 500 staff members. The faculty provides an ambitious, open and dynamic working environment and encourages its staff members to innovate. As 25% of our students and our staff are international, staff members communicate in both English and Dutch, and are aware of intercultural differences.
Qualifications:
experience in a managerial role and with personnel management in the context of higher education
knowledge of / affinity with student employability in higher education
experience with stakeholder management in the context of higher education
knowledge of the running projects and processes of the CS department is a pre
academic qualification at MSc level or equivalent level
excellent communication skills in both English and Dutch
team worker, with a result oriented and creative approach.
